Jamyang Ling belongs to the Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education. The text books come from the Indian Central Board of Education. In multilingual India it is differed between Hindi-, Urdu-, English medium schools, or even schools in other language mediums. Jamyang Ling is an English Medium School, what means the textbooks are written in English language.

The concept is based on the Tibetan Buddhist School-System, where besides the customary subjects Buddhist philosophy and the cultural heritage of the Zanskari people have a place, too. The governmental acceptance has been achieved from Lungnak Association, who has adopted the management in cooperation with Shambhala gem. e.V.

Jamyang Ling is concepted as a Middle School. Starting with the little ones in the nursery-level the subjects are:

LKG: English, Bodhi (Tibetan language and philosophy), Hindi, Mathematics, Rhymes, Music and Games

UKG: English, Bodhi, Hindi, Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies, Music and Games

1st - 5th class: English, Bodhi, Hindi, Urdu, Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies and Autonomous Reading

6th class: English, Bodhi, Hindi, Urdu, Mathematics, General Science, History and Geography

7th + 8th class: English, Bodhi, Hindi, Urdu, Mathematics, General Science, Civics, History, Geography

After class 8 students can go to Jammu, to study up until the Higher Secondary Examination after class 12. In Jammu the students are living together in a Hostel. Many students have already passed the exams after class 12 and are now going to university. Some students have even finished their studies at the university and are now working as teacher in the Jamyang Ling School in Raru!
